Portfolio Rebalancing ServiceBecause cycles in market conditions can cause the portfolios of your investment plans (such as the RSP) to become overweighted or underweighted in a particular investment category (such as equity or income), you need to rebalance your plan portfolios to get back on track with your original allocations. Doing this involves selling units that have outperformed and investing in units that have underperformed. Without rebalancing, your portfolios' make-up could become overly risky or may hinder your investment returns. To make portfolio rebalancing extremely easy, Canadian Dentists' Investment Program participants can now access the Portfolio Rebalancing Service. When you request this no-cost service for a plan, your portfolio will be automatically rebalanced to your personally approved asset allocation model on an annual or semi-annual basis.
