No Cost Student Insurance — No Catch

As a dental student in a pre-graduation year of study (years 1, 2 or 3 at most faculties) and who is a member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), you can apply for a valuable package of insurance — worth many hundreds of dollars every year you have it — at absolutely no cost to you.

The CDA provides this package to help you obtain some of the important insurance protection you will need as you begin your career. The insurance plans are provided through the Canadian Dentists’ Insurance Program, offer superior coverage and are created especially for dentists.

You pay absolutely nothing for this package up to December 31st of your graduation year. After that, you can choose to continue to be protected by paying regular premiums without having to reapply (but with no obligation to do so).

You can choose to apply for one of two no-cost packages:

A. Enhanced Student Package — Medical Underwriting Required
• $100,000 Basic Life Insurance
• $100,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
•$3,000 monthly benefit of Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance with a 30-day elimination period. Includes the Own Occupation, Future Insurance Guarantee and Cost of Living Adjustment options
• up to $15,000 Student TripleGuard™Insurance coverage for your hand tools while you are in school (coverage expires upon graduation)
• Up to $50,000 of TripleGuard™ Insurance when you graduate (includes office contents, practice interruption and commercial general liability coverage)

OR

B. Student Package — No Medical Underwriting Required*
• $50,000 Basic Life Insurance
• $50,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
• $1,000 monthly benefit of Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance with a 90-day elimination period
• Up to $50,000 of TripleGuard™ Insurance (including office contents, practice interruption and commercial general liability coverage)

* You must be under 35 to apply for this package.

For further details, refer to the application or contact New Dentist Services. Note: If you were previously covered by undergraduate insurance through the Canadian Dentists' Insurance Program, your coverage was automatically converted to the Student Package on September 30, 2005.
