No Cost Student Insurance — No Catch

As a dental student in a pre-graduation year of study (years 1, 2 or 3 at most faculties), you can apply for a valuable package of insurance — worth many hundreds of dollars every year you have it — at absolutely no cost to you.

The no-cost Student Package has superior coverage, features designed specifically for dental professionals, and is provided by the Canadian Dentists’ Insurance Program, which is administered by CDSPI. Coverage is offered at no cost until December 31st of your graduation year*.

• The no-cost package includes Life, Long Term Disability (LTD) and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, plus Student TripleGuard™ Insurance for your hand instruments. If you are under age 40** when you apply for the package, evidence of good health is not required and your Life, LTD and AD&D coverage will “double-up” upon graduation — giving you twice the protection!

• With evidence of good health, you can also apply to receive even higher amounts of Life, LTD and AD&D coverage at graduation.

• When you start working as a dentist, you can activate up to $50,000 of
TripleGuard™ Insurance to protect your office equipment and income against
office-related risks (such as fire, theft and pandemic outbreak) — at no cost to you until December 31st of your graduation year.

* Coverage is offered at no cost to you until December 31st of your graduation year, provided that you are an eligible full-time dental student at an accredited Canadian university. There is no obligation to continue coverage after the no-cost period ends. When the no-cost period ends, there is a 50 per cent discount on the regular premiums for the Life, LTD and AD&D Insurance in the package for the three calendar years following graduation. You can continue your TripleGuard™ Insurance coverage by paying regular premiums when the no-cost period ends.

** Students who are age 40 to 64 are required to provide evidence of good health to apply for the no-cost package of Life, LTD and AD&D Insurance. No medical evidence is required to obtain TripleGuard™ Insurance.
