The RESPThe RESP is a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) which allows you to save for a childs future education in a tax-sheltered manner. You may contribute a lifetime maximum of $50,000 per beneficiary. Thanks to the Canada Education Savings Grant, RESP holders can receive an annual government grant (see below). The RESP provides you with major advantages.
One benefit is the ability to invest in the CDSPI
family of funds more than 30 investment funds (plus Guaranteed Funds) that come
with proven records of performance and no-cost investment guidance.
And unlike many other investment funds, the CDSPI funds charge no loads,
commission or routine transaction fees* just modest fund management

RESP Plan Sheet Information DocumentsNote: These documents contain important information about the RESP. Please review them prior to completing and submitting your application: Questions and Answers About the RESP Education Savings Plan Education Savings Plan Application Forms for the Canada Education Savings Grant and the Canada Learning BondIf you wish to apply for the Canada Education Savings Grant (CES Grant), download, complete and send in the appropriate form below with your RESP application. Two types of grants are available — the Basic CES Grant and the Additional CES Grant. Lower- and middle-income families can apply to receive the Additional CES Grant. In addition lower-income families (who qualify for the National Child Benefit Supplement) can also apply for the Canada Learning Bond (CLB). For more information about these grants and this bond, refer to the Questions and Answers About the RESP document below. For the Subscriber Who Is the Beneficiary’s Primary CaregiverUse the form below if you are an RESP subscriber who is the beneficiary child’s custodial parent and primary caregiver (the primary caregiver is the parent who claims the Canada Child Tax Benefit for the beneficiary child). With this form, you can apply for one or more of the following incentives: For the Subscriber Who Is Not the Beneficiary’s Primary CaregiverThis form is for RESP subscribers who are not the beneficiary child’s custodial parent and primary caregiver (e.g. a grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.). With this form, you can apply for one or more of the following incentives: Application for the Alberta Centennial Education Savings GrantThe Alberta government provides $100 grants to students who turn 8, 11 and 14 on or after January 1, 2005 if they are attending school in the province and are RESP beneficiaries. At least $100 must be contributed to the student’s RESP in the year prior to applying for the grant. A one-time $500 grant is also provided by the province to children born in 2005 or later who are RESP beneficiaries.
