Human Resources Manager (Contract)
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for CDSPI’s talent management programs, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. The Human Resources Manager actively participates in a wide variety of talent management initiatives, and supports other corporate initiatives with significant employee impact.
You are an attentive listener with high levels of emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills, and are comfortable working with all levels of the organization. You are organized and can effectively manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly to new priorities. You are able to work independently, taking responsibility for your deliverables and escalating where required. You enjoy working in a progressive and dynamic work environment, where innovation is encouraged, and existing processes are continually being enhanced.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer on all aspects of CDSPI's evolving Talent Management program
- Actively participate in a wide variety of Talent Management initiatives and provide expertise to other corporate initiatives as required
- Develop, implement and maintain CDSPI's corporate recruitment and onboarding program
- Research, recommend and implement corporate and departmental training programs, working closely with stakeholders to define training objectives and measure success
- Coordinate performance management program, providing support to the Leadership Team
- Maintain Human Resources employee site, including policies, forms, and announcements, and coordinating updates with legal, compliance and Leadership Team
- Support various employee-related committees (JHSC, Pension, Social)
- Support compensation function, providing back up to Compensation Coordinator
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer
Knowledge & Skills:
- Two to five years of experience in human resources
- Experience with developing, implementing or strengthening talent management programs
- University degree or equivalent
- CHRP- or CHRL- designated, or demonstrated progress towards human resource designation
- Knowledge of relevant workplace legislation
- Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Team player with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Work Environment:
- Hybrid model: work from home and the office
- Attend CDSPI's Toronto office as needed in accordance with company policy
