On February 26, 2018, the Saskatchewan government announced they are rescinding the 6% provincial sales tax (PST) that was introduced on life, health, disability, accident and sickness insurance premiums in 2017. The change is retroactive.
As a result, all PST collected on applicable CDSPI premiums will be refunded.
TAX REFUND PROCESS
CDSPI will be processing all applicable refunds in the following way:
- Monthly or quarterly premiums
If you pay your premiums monthly or quarterly you will receive your refund as a credit on your July invoice. - Annual premiums or cancelled clients
If you pay your premiums annually or if you have cancelled your coverage, we will mail a refund cheque to your current address in our system.

- Basic Life
- Family Life
- Term 100
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment
- DisabilityGuard™
- Long Term Disability
- Office Overhead Expense insurance
- Hospital Cash
- Dental Office Staff Insurance
- Critical Illness
