Rachel Shapiro
Rachel Shapiro is the President of the Federation of Canadian Dentistry Student Associations (FCDSA), representing the Canadian dental student community. In her role, Rachel is passionate about advocating for dental students and creating opportunities for students across Canada to connect with one another and with members of the broader dental community. She is particularly interested in fostering meaningful, long-lasting relationships between students, dentists, industry partners, suppliers, and other organizations that support the profession, helping students build strong professional networks as they enter their careers.
Rachel is a third-year Doctor of Dental Surgery student at the University of Alberta’s Mike Petryk School of Dentistry, where she also serves as Vice President of Dentistry for the University of Alberta’s Dental Student Association. Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Rachel completed a Bachelor of Science at Mount Royal University before earning a Master of Science from McGill University
Through her leadership roles at both the university and national levels, Rachel is committed to strengthening connections within the dental community and ensuring that dental students have access to opportunities, resources, and relationships that support their professional development and future careers.
