CDSPI Builder's Risk Insurance

PROTECTION FOR YOUR RENOVATION OR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Construction projects don’t always go as planned. Delays, damage, or theft can quickly drive-up costs and push timelines off course.

Builder’s Risk insurance helps protect the physical construction project during the build by covering insured physical loss or damage to the work in progress. This helps ensure the financial impact of covered losses does not fall entirely on the project owner.

Coverage Highlights

  • Deductible: $2,500
  • Protection includes:
    • Fire or explosion
    • Theft, vandalism, or break-ins
    • Water damage
    • Flood and sewer backup
    • Materials and equipment, including installed items, in-transit, or stored off-site or temporarily stored.
  • Optional coverage:
    • Delayed start-up: If your project is delayed due to damage from a covered event, delayed start-up can help cover certain financial losses resulting from the delay.
    • Condominium Unit Contingent: If your project is in a condominium building, this coverage provides additional protection that may be required due to shared ownership and building structure.

When to Speak with an Advisor

If you're exploring plans to upgrade, expand, or build your ideal office space, talk to an Insurance Advisor to ensure your coverage aligns with your lease or financing obligations and/or construction timelines.

An Insurance Advisor can help you assess your total project plan from an insurance perspective to avoid gaps in coverage.

CDSPI Commercial General Liability (Designated Premises)

LIABILITY PROTECTION FOR YOUR DENTAL PRACTICE

Commercial General Liability coverage helps protect your dental practice against liability claims involving bodily injury or property damage to others.

For example, if a patient, visitor, or contractor is injured while renovation or construction work is taking place at your office, this coverage responds to liability claims arising from the incident.

Coverage Highlights

  • Liability Coverage: Choose from $1 million to $5 million
  • Deductible: $2,500

When to Speak with an Advisor

Before construction begins, talk to an Insurance Advisor to ensure your coverage aligns with your lease or financing obligations and/or any construction timelines.

Why You May Need Both

Builder's Risk and Commercial General Liability insurance serve different purposes during a construction project:

  • Builder's Risk:

Physical loss or damage to the construction project.

  • Commercial General Liability:

Liability for injury or property damage to others.

An Insurance Advisor from CDSPI Advisory Services Inc. can help ensure you have the right protection for both liability claims and property damage during your project.
