CDSPI Builder's Risk & Commercial General Liability Insurance
Whether you’re renovating, expanding, or building a dental practice from the ground up, your insurance needs to keep pace with the risks at every stage of the project.
Building or renovating a dental practice is a significant undertaking — one that comes with risks at every phase. From planning and contract signing through to construction and completion, appropriate coverage is an essential part of protecting your investment.
Our advisors work with you to review your coverage and ensure it is appropriately aligned with your project, so you can move forward with confidence.
CDSPI Builder's Risk Insurance
PROTECTION FOR YOUR RENOVATION OR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Construction projects don’t always go as planned. Delays, damage, or theft can quickly drive-up costs and push timelines off course.
Builder’s Risk insurance helps protect the physical construction project during the build by covering insured physical loss or damage to the work in progress. This helps ensure the financial impact of covered losses does not fall entirely on the project owner.
CDSPI Commercial General Liability (Designated Premises)
LIABILITY PROTECTION FOR YOUR DENTAL PRACTICE
Commercial General Liability coverage helps protect your dental practice against liability claims involving bodily injury or property damage to others.
For example, if a patient, visitor, or contractor is injured while renovation or construction work is taking place at your office, this coverage responds to liability claims arising from the incident.
Why You May Need Both
Builder's Risk and Commercial General Liability insurance serve different purposes during a construction project:
Builder's Risk:
Physical loss or damage to the construction project.
Commercial General Liability:
Liability for injury or property damage to others.
An Insurance Advisor from CDSPI Advisory Services Inc. can help ensure you have the right protection for both liability claims and property damage during your project.
Eligibility
You are eligible for CDSPI Builder's Risk and/or Commercial General Liability Insurance if you are a licensed dentist, resident in Canada and a member of a participating provincial or territorial dental association.
How to Apply
Each construction project presents unique exposures. Providing complete and accurate information and submitting all requested documents will help streamline the underwriting process and avoid unnecessary delays.

Project Dates
Including expected start and completion date.
Project Costs
Including estimated construction cost and equipment to be insured.

Additional Interest Information (as applicable)
Including mortgagee or loss payee name and address.
Additional Documentation (if requested):
