Mr. David R. Oliver

Mr. Oliver was elected to the CDSPI Board in May 2019. He is the Chair of the Human Resources Committee at CDSPI and serves as a member of CDSPI’s Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee. Currently, Mr. Oliver is the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer at BRJO Investments Ltd. He also serves on several other Boards, including the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation, Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company, the Auto Sector Retiree Health Care Trust, and Learning Matters Education Charity.
Additional Experience
Previously, Mr. Oliver held the position of National Lead and Vice President at MD Financial Management, heading MD Private Investment Counsel and MD Management Limited. Prior to joining MD Financial Management, he was the Chief Portfolio Manager and Executive Director at CIBC, as well as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at TD.
Mr. Oliver graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master’s Degree in Economics. He holds the Corporate Director Certificate from Harvard Business School, plus the Chartered Director and Chartered Financial Analyst designations. More recently, Mr. Oliver completed the Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management Executive Program at The Wharton School, as well as the Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate from CFA Institute.
