Working with Students

CDSPI is committed to getting dental students off to a strong start. Our No-cost Student Insurance Package, school presentations, and tailored financial advice are just a few ways that we establish our life-long relationship. This year, we surveyed students from schools across Canada to learn more about their concerns and priorities after graduation. We chose 20 winners from over 250 participants. Watch our Insights Hub for more on what we learned.

“CDSPI has been helpful in supporting my local (HPDA) component society on several occasions with expert presentations with knowledgeable advice.”
~Dr. Brenda Thomson, Associate (Retired Practice Owner), Ontario
“I was pleasantly surprised at the level of customer service I received from CDSPI. They sent a refund cheque on my life insurance premium that somehow I missed. Not only did they follow up with an email and phone call to make sure I received the refund, they reissued the cheque for me too.”
~Dr. Christine Hibberd, Practice Owner, Ontario
“CDSPI is the only financial services organization that is focused on dentists. They really know our business and tailor their products and services to us. CDSPI also takes a more holistic approach. It’s not just about finances, but about ongoing learning and being connected to the full dental community.”
~Dr. Khash Gharavi, Associate, Previous President of the FCDSA (2015-2017), Ontario
“CDSPI’s travel insurance is a great advantage for dentists. I’ve checked with other insurance companies and it’s a lot less costly for the same coverage. Then you add the level of service and it’s really an easy decision.”
~Dr. Bob Whyte, Retired Pediatric Dentist, Ontario
“I just knew I could count on CDSPI. It was great to talk to an advisor about the level of malpractice and disability that was right for me, and about plans I would need when I own a practice. When I found out they were a not-for-profit, that clinched it for me. I also learned they sometimes reduce premiums when there are fewer claims. What other company would do that?!”
~Dr. Raylien Chao, Associate, British Columbia
"As an orthodontist in transition to retirement, I was seeking investment, tax and estate-planning advice and was fortunate to be introduced to Lamees Rahif. I have found her to be very professional, honest and sincere, and was willing to spend the time to explain and educate. I appreciate her integrity and am confident that she will continue to monitor my changing circumstances and help ensure my long-term financial security."
~Dr. Gerry Solomon, Orthodontist, Ontario
"I have had the opportunity to sit in on a number of CDSPI presentations to students. The “free insurance” they provide is an obvious benefit, and the financial advice is important at a time when many are looking at massive student debt upon graduation. In informal discussions with students I point out that CDSPI should be considered as their trusted investment provider. I support the Student Program, as CDSPI knows that the students of today are the dentists of tomorrow who will need trusted insurance and investment advice."
~Dr. G.W. Johnson, Part-Time Clinical Associate Professor
University of Saskatchewan, College of Dentistry
